Microneedling in Columbia, SC

Microneedling is a versatile treatment that can address many aspects of skin health, producing tighter skin and a more even complexion. Residents of Columbia, Lexington, and the neighboring cities of South Carolina can try the effective microneedling treatment at Plastic Surgery Consultants.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a popular cosmetic treatment that creates thousands of microscopic punctures in the skin, triggering collagen production to achieve rejuvenation benefits. By controlling the depth and size of these punctures, the body’s natural healing response kicks in, optimizing collagen stimulation and triggering benefits that can treat wrinkles, scars, stretch marks, and enlarged pores, while also creating firmer, tighter skin. At Plastic Surgery Consultants, we use the RejuvaPen with PRP therapy to maximize the results of microneedling.

How Much Does Microneedling Cost?

The cost of your microneedling will vary depending on your specific treatment goals. To determine the exact cost of treatment, we invite you to schedule a personal consultation with Dr. Wassermann. During your consultation, you will work with Dr. Wassermann to develop a personalized treatment plan that will satisfy your unique cosmetic goals. At this point, we will be able to provide you with the full cost of treatment. To help make our treatments accessible to those who need them, we accept a variety of payment options as well as financing.

What Can I Expect from the Microneedling Treatment?

Our effective microneedling treatment combines traditional microneedling with the RejuvaPen and can be combined with PRP therapy (Platelet-Rich Plasma). The microneedling treatment is performed with the aid of a topical anesthetic to minimize any discomfort felt during treatment. This process simply involves making small punctures in the skin throughout the desired treatment area. Once complete, we can also use PRP therapy to maximize the benefits of microneedling. This involves taking a small amount of blood which is purified to obtain a concentrated solution of blood platelets. This platelet-rich blood plasma is then injected into the treated area, where the growth factors in the blood help to restore the skin. This treatment typically lasts about one hour.

Is There Any Downtime After Microneedling?

There is no downtime after a microneedling procedure, so patients are able to resume work and other normal activities immediately following their treatment. Since PRP therapy uses only the patient’s own blood, there is no risk of side effects or complications. Patients will often experience redness or swelling after their treatment, but this is a natural effect of treatment that will fade within a few days.

What Kind of Results Can I Expect from Microneedling?

Microneedling can produce significant improvements in the appearance and texture of the skin. Since most of these changes are a result of an increase in collagen, these effects may not be visible immediately after treatment. Most patients will notice results within a few weeks of treatment, with more significant results appearing about two to three months afterwards. Some patients may need multiple treatments to achieve their desired results.

With microneedling, patients can achieve a significant improvement in the appearance and texture of the skin. Plastic Surgery Consultants offers this and other effective MedSpa treatments to the residents of Lexington County, Richland County, and the surrounding areas of South Carolina.
