Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery) in Columbia, SC

If you have developed a “tired” appearance that makes you look old and weathered, a blepharoplasty may be able to help. By reducing wrinkled eyelid skin and bags under the eyes, you can achieve a younger appearance. Plastic Surgery Consultants offers blepharoplasty to residents of Columbia, Lexington, and the surrounding areas of South Carolina.

What is Blepharoplasty?

Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is a facial surgery treatment that reduces loose or wrinkled upper eyelid skin to produce a revitalized, well-rested, and youthful appearance. Additionally, younger patients may be interested in transconjunctival blepharoplasty. Performed through incisions inside the lower eyelid, the transconjunctival approach minimizes the look of lower eyelid puffiness with no visible scarring. Blepharoplasty at Plastic Surgery Consultants is an extremely effective option for most individuals and various techniques are available to ensure a natural-looking result.

How Much Does a Blepharoplasty Cost?

The cost of your blepharoplasty will vary depending on your specific treatment goals. To determine the exact cost of treatment, we invite you to schedule a personal consultation with Dr. Wassermann. During your consultation, you will work with Dr. Wassermann to develop a personalized treatment plan that will satisfy your unique cosmetic goals. At this point, we will be able to provide you with the full cost of treatment. To help make our treatments accessible to those who need them, we accept a variety of payment options as well as financing.

How is a Blepharoplasty Performed?

Each blepharoplasty is performed with the aid of anesthesia to ensure that patients remain entirely comfortable for the duration of their surgery. Incisions are carefully made within the natural creases of the eyelids, ensuring that scars are well-hidden after surgery. Through these incisions, excess skin and fat is removed to achieve the patients desired results. Afterwards, the incisions are closed and the treatment is complete. A blepharoplasty can take between two and four hours, depending on the patient’s cosmetic goals and if an upper blepharoplasty or upper and lower blepharoplasty is desired.

What is Recovery Like Following a Blepharoplasty?

With individualized treatment planning, Dr. Wassermann can maximize his patients’ results. Most eyelid surgery patients at our South Carolina center are able to return to work and other light activities in seven to 10 days with full results evident in approximately four to six weeks.
