Laser Skin Resurfacing
To reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration, sun damage, acne scars, and other imperfections, patients at our practice can turn to laser skin resurfacing. This powerful rejuvenation treatment removes damaged skin, boosts collagen production, and stimulates development of new cells, producing a smooth, radiant look.
Laser resurfacing is an extremely precise technique. Dr. Wassermann has at his disposal many different types of lasers, including the Sciton laser, and can tailor the depth of the resurfacing in order to meet patients' rejuvenation needs as well as their specific recovery requirements. For example, Dr. Wassermann can perform a shallow peel under topical anesthetic with little or no downtime, or a deep full-face treatment under general anesthetic to correct years of sun damage and facial aging.
Typically, laser skin resurfacing patients at our South Carolina center enjoy a rapid recovery. Most patients are able to return to work and light activities in one week or less, though mild redness and sensitivity my persist for several weeks.

Laser Vein Treatment

A non-invasive procedure that can be performed in about 15 minutes without anesthesia or downtime, laser vein treatment fades bothersome spider veins dramatically, producing a healthier and more attractive look.

Chemical Peels
Customized for each patient’s specific needs, chemical peels are an extremely successful means of achieving an even, healthy complexion and reducing the look of acne scars, uneven pigmentation, environmental damage, and other concerns.
Performed in under an hour in the privacy and comfort of our state-of-the-art facility, chemical peel treatments are associated with only minimal discomfort. Temporary side effects may include redness, dryness, and mild swelling. Recovery times vary according to the strength of the peel and individual factors.
Chemical peels can also be used in conjunction with other aesthetic procedures in order to optimize patients' results without increasing recovery time. For example, a common combination is a blepharoplasty with a chemical peel to the lower lids to erradicate fine wrinkles and correct skin discoloration (dark circles).
Tattoo Removal
Technological advances have made it possible to safely and effectively remove unwanted tattoos. Although there are several methods of tattoo removal, laser treatments have become the standard technique for restoring the skin's appearance while minimizing potential scarring.
Dr. Wassermann uses laser technology to remove pigment and restore the skin's appearance in eight to twelve sessions. Depending on the characteristics and colors of the tattoo, more treatments may be required. Dr. Wassermann prescribes specialized creams in the post-treatment period in order to speed clearance and decrease the overall number of treatments.
The convenience and safety of laser treatment allows for tattoo removal with minimal side effects and no downtime. Patients can rid themselves of the once-permanent marking for a renewed appearance.
